The budget which amounts to more than 5 billion is subject to examination and adoption. At the end of the three days of work, the regional council will present the draft budget for 2025 to the press on Friday. The 4th and final session of 2024, of the Coastal Regional Council, opened yesterday December 18 at the auditorium of Douala 5 council, in the presence of administrative and municipal authorities. The event, chaired by Polycarp Banlog, will be held on December 18, 19 and 20, 2024. In front of the press, the president of the said council presented the budget which saw an increase compared to past budgets. “For the moment, and pending the promulgation and implementation of the law on local taxation, the budget of the Coastal Regional Council for the 2025 financial year, the budget of which the project is subject to examination and adoption, is balanced in resources and uses at the sum of five billion, eighty-six million, eight hundred and twenty-four thousand, two hundred and four (5,086,824,204) CFA francs. » said the Hon. Polycarp Banlog, president of the Regional Council.Talking to NewsHub reporter at the end of the opening ceremony,he also indicated that the adoption of the law on local taxation, the implementation of which is eagerly awaited by the council, marks a decisive step.
