It will indeed be the first of it’s kind in Cameroon the All Kassava festival slated to run from November 11 – 16 ,2024 at the party house in Bonanjo which will assemble the finest cassava producers in the country,to showcase their agricultural prowess.
Launching diverse activities leading to the event has been launched by governor Samuel Dieudonne Ivaha Diboua with the call for all the living forces in the region to join hands and make the event a success when it officially gets underway ,in the days ahead.In his address during the launch of activities,he urged Douala denizens and particularly cassava farmers to maximize this golden opportunity to accompany the government achieve her import substitution policy through this project which will great help reduce importation of cassava products at a point in time when pharmaceutical companies are on the rise in country and are in great need of the products to ensure the constant supply of drugs.Thus, actors involve in the chain should creat a befitting networking chain to maximize every opportunity provided by sector.
Meanwhile,the vision bearer Yvette Doume epse Banlog who is president of the non governmental organization known as Action women and development of Cameroon (FADEC) confesses that,the All Kassava festival seeks to unite both farmers and transformers of cassava products to exchange ideas on how they could together collectively beef up and improve their production scale in the sector which has got plenty to offer in the Cameroonian economy.
During the 6 days event, which is expected to be launched by agriculture and rural development minister on November 11, will constitute plenty of diverse activities such as ,B to B meeting, training workshop, conferences,exhibitions, tasting as well election of Miss Kassava.
It is therefore an appointment all actors in the cassava value chain not to be missed,to celebrate cassava and it’s by-products,in a special way and style.
