The program falls in line with government initiative of « let’s talk female entrepreneurship » which is aimed at, encouraging more women not to get discouraged easily during economic huddles but, rather exploit every opportunity which comes their way.
It was an electrifying auditorium of the littoral governor’s office Wednesday October 30 which hosted the launch of the 3 days capacity building workshop group over 100 women entrepreneurs drafted from the nooks and crannies of the Littoral region to be fortified intellectually by government foreign experts on how to manage their divise businesses even in the face of economic challenges.
The 3 day event launched by the women empowerment and the family minister prof.Marie Theresa Abena Ondoua who was accompanied by a cream of administrative officials of the region headed by governor Samuel Dieudonne Ivaha Diboua,was rich in color and style.Adressing the participants,the minister reminded them on the pivotal role entrepreneurs do play in every economy thus, Cameroonian women shouldn’t be left in the cold in driving our economy.
According to Minprof boss, female entrepreneurship is still facing plenty of challenges in cameroon despite the many efforts employed by the state to empower them.Thus,the 3 days Douala conclave should therefore serve as the icing on the cake in changing the narrative reason why,it has assembled both successful and crawling entrepreneurs to enable both parties share and examine challenges faced on the field and carve out a well structured plan on how to stay afloat business.The minister went further to express her desire to see a similar exercise carried out in other regions of the country in the months ahead.
However, Beatrice Leyuga a venerated soap producer from Bakakte village in the Nlonako subdivision in the Mungo division,expresses joy to have been selected as one of the participants for the workshop.She confided to this reporter that, though finance has been her major challenge, networking has also been her preoccupation thus, during her 3 days stay in Douala,she hopes to creat new contacts and learn new tactics to help her produce in larger scale as well as survive the current economic shock, rocking Cameroon.
