In prelude to the 2024 international womens day in cameroon,the Belinda Babila foundation in partnership with the Mambanda women’s association have launched activities leading to March 8 through a sport walk around major streets in the Douala IV subdivision .
In pump and fanfare they came out in their numbers as Mambanda women association in the Douala IV subdivision chanted songs of peace as part of activitity through sport walk in celebrating this years international day.The Mambanda womens association in partnership with the Belinda Babila foundation brandished diversed messages such as women are vision bearers,creative,amazing,a respect for humanity just to name this few as they matched past the different attractive points in the subdivision .Under the supervision of Madam Ngwa Mary president of the Mambanda women’s association who expressed gratitude to the B.B.F for fascilitating the smooth organisation of their activities and urges other women still to join the train ,to come on board so they could collectively build a better society for women .
Aside just the sports walk for peace,the women of Mambanda have got other activities like capacity building workshop to train their members on different income generating activities like soap fabrication,pedicure and manicure,free cancer screening exercise and many more all in a bid to enable women less independent on men for finances .The participants expressed great optimism for a better tomorrow should trains and initiatives of this kind be multiplied year round at the grassroot levels.
However,with theme « invest in women :Accelerate progress »,women are thus invited to be assiduous and steadfast in their purpose as mother of humanity and build a better society free of bias,stereotypes and discrimination despite the current challenges the world is facing.Afterall , what’s good for the gander is equally good for the goose.
